Kale. Rekindles the fire: A revolution in industry with green hydrogen

Kale Group, a shareholder in HYSouthMarmara, Turkey’s first “Green Hydrogen Valley” project, is implementing a roller kiln technology that uses green hydrogen as a fuel, a first in the ceramics industry. This is one of the most significant steps toward a zero-carbon future for the Turkish industry.Turkey’s first hydrogen-powered hybrid ceramic kiln will create a paradigm shift for the sector, going far beyond mere technology transfer. This technology will primarily initiate an environmental and energetic transformation, reducing our dependence on fossil fuels like natural gas, bringing our carbon footprint closer to zero, and enhancing the sector’s energy supply security. Furthermore, thanks to its hybrid structure, it will increase production efficiency by offering the flexibility to integrate different energy sources, which will trigger new R&D investments. As a natural consequence of all these technological and environmental achievements, leading in this field will give Kaleseramik and the Turkish ceramics sector an invaluable ‘green manufacturer’ identity.
